Not sure, at this hour, whether it’s Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum bringing home the Iowa bacon, but even if Mittens wins by a few score votes, isn’t that like a Porsche nipping a Toyota Yaris at the wire?
Apparently, Santorum was helped in his surge by the sartorial choice of…a sweater vest.
I’m pretty sure Mitt will be the GOP nominee, but it looks like Newt will spend some time and his limitless supply of warm air bashing him for a while.
This year’s GOP Presidential Primary reminds me of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, with Romney being Gaston, except without any of his attractive characteristics. To date, all the not-Romneys have been auditioning for the role of Beast, with no success.
I live in Southern California, grew up in New York and Minneapolis, and have family scattered in three countries. I am a liberal, and woe be to anyone who says that with any sort of moronic disclaimer (i.e. “I’m a liberal but I’m not crazy” or “I’m a liberal but I still believe terrorism is bad”). I’m a liberal, OK? No apologies. However, I do think, when I hear the word uttered by some people, of Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride: “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
