Mark your Calendars

I’m a John Cusack fan from way back, so it’s not hard for me to get a bit amped about his latest – War, Inc. – which is a dark satire of a corporately occupied and run middle eastern country.

Cusack, in an on-line chat today, quoted Naomi Klein in referring to the Iraq war as “armed robbery of the shellshocked.” I, for one, am ready for a Grosse Pointe Blank type dissection of the war industry (it seems a bit quaint to refer to the relationship between the military and industry these days as a mere “complex”).

Anyway, they’re building on word of mouth, so here’s a word from my mouth: go see it. Tell other people to see it. It opens in New York and LA on May 23rd, and later dates will depend, in part, on how it does then.
