Another step…

All you hetero couples, bar the doors, ‘cuz New York State is letting teh gays marry.

I reached back to 1954 after Health Care Reform passed, and I’ll do it again:

56 years ago, after the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 in favor of the plaintiffs in Brown v. Board of Education, Ernest Rubenstein, clerk to Justice Tom Clark, , felt relief. “I felt good – and clean,” he says. “It was just so right.”

And so it is today.

Well done, New York. You did the right thing. Andrew Sullivan was (rightly) reduced to sobs.

And what will people say, in 50, or even 25 years, of those 29 who voted no?
