This week was bad enough, what with Michigan Republicans sneaking “right to work” legislation through for Governor Rick Snyder to sign in private (proud much?) and the trumped-up Benghazi talking points “scandal” taking out Susan Rice as a potential Secretary of State.
And then someone who is (one must assume) mentally ill kills twenty children and seven adults – most of the children students in his mothers’ kindergarten class – in a small town in Connecticut. President Obama – above – seems shellshocked, and looking at the .223 caliber rifle Adam Lanza used to commit mass murder this morning, I’m not sure if I’m comfortable with it in the hands of an extremely well-regulated militia, much less a disturbed 24-year-old:
Of course, it is never appropriate to discuss guns after an act of gun violence, and given the frequency of these events, we’ll be putting off these discussions forever. As usual, the Onion is on it:
